Marie’s move to Arbor comes following a groundbreaking season where she won “Women’s Rider of the Year”, “Women’s Video Part of the Year”, and the “Climate Activist Award” presented by Protect Our Winters. Marie’s influence will be seen in the Arbor’s team, marketing, special projects, and women’s product development.

Marie-France Roy has been pushing the limits of women’s backcountry freeriding and freestyle for years. With standout video parts in a plethora of influential snowboard films, Marie has solidified her spot among the most accomplished female riders in snowboarding. In 2014, Marie transcended her role as a rider and produced the award winning film “The Little Things”, a movie project based on environmentally conscious riders who are inspirational through their riding, as well as their sustainable ways of thinking and living.

“The synergies between Marie and Arbor are undeniable. She is not only one of the best female riders in the world, but also one of the most influential advocates for sustainability and environmentalism in action sports,” says Arbor Snowboards Marketing Manager Sean Black. “Her ethos, drive and talent align with the Arbor brand on so many levels and her input will be invaluable as we move into the future with Arbor.”

Southern California based Arbor Snowboards has been an industry leader in sustainable production for the past 20 years. Arbor’s long-standing commitment to the environment is seen in its use of sustainably sourced materials and its commitment to reforestation projects such as the Returning Roots program.

“I always perceived Arbor as an innovative, soulful and passionate brand,” says Marie-France Roy. “I am truly honored to join such a rad family of legendary riders, artists, creative designers and owners that keep sustainability and the future in mind.”

Marie joins snowboarders Bryan Iguchi, Mark Carter, Frank April, Curtis Woodman, Scotty Vine, and Brandon Hammid on Arbor’s pro team. She completes a series of new team additions that define brand’s direction.
